Berkley Gulp vs Berkley Powerbait

Guys

I know that the gulp series has the liquid scent in the packet and the Powerbait has no liquid scent but at the back of the packet it says holds on 18 times longer.I also took a closer look(or closer smell) at the powerbait(5" jerkshad ) -theres no smell except plastic ..

So which is better cos they are about the same price.

Gulp! is a water-based, biodegradable bait.

Natural scent dispersing, water based product, that's 100% biodegradable.
What is the scent?
New generation of attractant. Major advancement in scent and flavor technology. More effective dispersion and attraction.
Odor
Not Power Bait, but, new unique scent
Hands will smell a little after use
Typically a slight vinegar odor might occur
Texture
- May be a little tacky, which is normal for the product
Color
-     Mostly opaque colors
-     May bleed a little bit, but, will not stain clothes or boat carpet
-     Mostly water soluble dyes, so, will wash out with detergent and water
Durability
High endurance
More durable than plastic
Attaches to a jig head
Will slide easily on the hook
Water Absorption
- Will swell in the water up to 20% More fluid action when wet Drying
- It is still usable even if dry, just simply put back into the water, until back to normal size.
Recovery after rehydration is about 95% - 100% Product has a shelf life of 3 years if unopened.
- Product has a life span of many months, in the bag, if opened, (make sure bag is sealed)
Should store at normal temperatures, avoiding excessive heat - 140+ degrees.

I was told the Gulp isnt as much a scent, as it is a feeding hormone. So it triggers the fish into biting, even if they arent hungry.... I'm not so sure about that one, but who knows?

I am not convinced that a smell triggers a bite. I reckon nothing beats a good presentation. The smell kicks in after the fish has bitten the lure. If it feels and tastes natural then the fish will hold on longer.

Tell u this

I will be drop shotting this coming Festive season. I will make some dupas and let the lures soak in it for a day or two, after which I will go fishing and inform u guys of the outcome.

Maybe some anchove oil etc.
