Here are a few must have items for bassing in rivers. I do quite a bit of bassing down here in the Western Cape wont be able to point out good spots but can help with the rest. My basics - Float tube ( you can pick them up for next to nothing on gumtree ) riverbanks are usually overgrown and it a mission to get to the good spots, on the FT its a breeze. Get yourself a good 6ft8 med heavy bass rod and a good reel then youre halfway there. To start go and buy three main lures 1 - Topwater 2- Spinnerbait 3- some plastics and then just hop on and go fish them till you get a feel for it. Be carefull though bassing is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE !!!
