Arrived at Rust de Winter at about 07:00. Quickly grabbed something to eat before launching the boat, and start our search for the bass.
First we headed to the inlet to try a few spots in this area. Saw lots of fish turning, but we couldn't entice a bait, no matter what lure we tried. Later we realised that all of the fish we were seeing were small barbell. So, off we went.
We started fishing the banks on the opposite side of the camp sites. I rigged a weightless 5" senko, and first cast I was on with a ±800g bass. As I landed the second bass on the senko the other guys on the boat quickly started changing lures, with great effect.
Using this lure we fished the rest of the day at a number of spots, and regularly caught fish. Unfortunately we got no really big ones, with the largest being about 1.2kg.
The conclude this was a great days fishing.
PS. We saw a large crocodile just bathing in the sun. I wish the people that ski, etc. on the dam will take notice and start being more careful. Will see if I can upload the pic later.
