Bass Lodge - North West

Hi All

I visited the venue yesterday. Was great. Just 45 kilometers south of Klerksdorp out on the N12. The last 8 km is dirt road.

Three dams, all with bottom grass. Allot of small fish on the shallow banks. Canoe and pontoon allowed.

Day visitors permitted. R60.00 per angler. R30.00 for the non-anglers.

There are also 6 chalets. Photo attached. Each chalet has own splash pool. Nice farming atmosphere.

Hi there , il be going to this bass lodge soon , just some advice ? Hows the bass? And what baits are good ? Also is the dams big enough to use inflatable boat with trolling motor ? Or not worth it ?

There is three dams, all with bass (so we were told). I only spend the day at the top dam (biggest of the three). From my observation I could see there was allot of fish activity and the eco system is perfect for bass.

I caught my bass with a reg eye shad. With all the grass I had to skim it over the top water. There were other anglers who also had good success on the day. It seems like flukes are the best to use.

The dams are not big enough for a trolling motor.

Getting out and trying to catch bass is always worth it.

Enjoy it. Also the bird life is great in the area.

Sorry for the late reply.

Only visited the venue for one day, and left before it got dark. The other group said that they caught bass well over one kg.
