Bangsticks, what are your thoughts?

Carried one for years and never used it.IMO if the shark gives you enough time to get the banger on then he in all probability doesn't want to eat you.If he was intending on chowing you there wouldn't be a chance to get it on,that you can be sure of !

That would just be an extra piece of equipment you need to lug around and is purely for use against sharks (besides being illegal as a modified weapon),maybe if you were a poacher swimming to Dyer Island it would be worth it 
Agree with CApespearo about if you really need it you won't have time.
Just remember, it is illegal to possess any ammunition if you do not have a licence for that caliber.
And secondly, most importantly, in the "new" laws, a powerhead or bang stick is considered a modified firearm which is highly illegal.

hehe Don't have em. I was just interested in finding out what the rest of the spearo's thought about them. I do how ever have a license for a .45 caliber pistol 
If it dose not have a firing pin, it is not a firearm, but ammo.
I made a lot and tested them back in the bad old days.
We used throw aways and not fancy ones with firing machanisms, because if you do not have the firing pin in the powerhead, you theoretically cannot get a AD.
Nine times out of ten, the shark approaches you when you have speared a fish and then all you have in your hand is a piece of aluminium tube, so your powerhead is useless, unless you have a fancy one with a firing pin, which is highly illegal.
If they catch you withit, you will be arrested, for having an unlicenced firearm ( PAPPA WAG VIR JOU )
