Can anyone help with more info on a Air gun that can propel your bait up to 300m out to sea? There are a few designs of potato guns using hair spray and Air. Are there any designed for fishing and are they available in SA and at what price?

Hi Naruto. Thanks for the info. The Forum you sent the link to was very interesting but unfortunately never got to the point of if there is anything out there modified or made solely for the fishing enthusiast. And if so are they available in SA and at what cost. But every bit of info helps. Thanks again for the help.

:kaykak well Fanie if every fisherman could afford a Boat then the Sea would look like Morning Traffic in JHB. I personally can't afford one as I'm sure many other fisherman can't either or is that nether? Can you maybe front us the Money for a Boat as could you just imagine 30 fisherman on the Beach launching 10oz sinkers over your Boat using Potato Guns LOL ;-)

Well guys, I think it's a matter of choice. Probably the simplest and easiest way to get on the water is to get a kayak. Not perfect but it works, is affordable and a lot of fun. You have to try it a few times.

Re the affordability of a boat. Yes it is expensive, especially in SA and outfitting it too is even more expensive. I'm going to attempt to put together a diy thing where you can buy the boat parts and build your own up if you want. It doesn't have to be that heavy either, most vehicle's can tow up to a 1000kg or so. In a few months.

It gets me as much as it does you if you cannot get to where the fish is. SA has a huge coastline, it should have hundreds of boats on it, sadly because of the SA ripoff many of us is not interested.

Hi Fanie. Yes very true what you saying. I think if you can get us the info on building up a boat it would be great. As you say there are many of us who would love to get to where the fish are.
