Snazzy, Kite flyer,very practical, So if you use a Dyneema or braided kite-line,you just slide a sleeve of Dacron or similar over it and attach that clip, (for which you are going to get a million requests,lol,) to it... Am I right if I say that, that particular clip can also be used to drop ,if you use that "broken8" clip that Hannes posted,or even if you use a ceramic ring,with your line running through it.
In other words without the "roller troller" or flatline clip as it is known.It looks adjustable with the turn of a tiny knobby/screw.
Come, tell us more about your kite-system and exactly how your Sky-hook works and when do you deploy it.

I not to good at this photo and info thing yet as you can see with my first post but will eventually get it right. Still in a major learning curve, i have picked up some very good tips from you (Mr Kitefisher) and the internet and adapted them to suite my way of doing things. I think i will first try sending pics and info on what you need in your kit if you want be a serious kite fisherman and where i found it. May be the kite guys can add their input or how to do it better.
By the way i am quiet keen on that night fishing idea of yours, but one will need a strobe lights i think, one above the bait and another below the kite. Found one site that sells mini strobes called eco flares at www.rammountain.co.za do you have any other sites you can let me know about.

I share your concern regarding the strobe for potential air-traffic,to be very honest with you The worst that could probably happen is that you can lose your kite,in your case with an imported one,it could be a substantial loss. We used those chemical phosphorous light-sticks in the past,you do get them in fairly big sizes,up to 6-10 inches,they work like a charm tied with an elasticband,near your kite,or to the tail if your kite has one.
They dont flicker/strobe,but you can clearly see your kite, and if one is added to your drop where your marker would be,you have two lights out ,which you wont miss.I am no avionic expert,but I doubt if ,even if you are using a strobe which a pilot can see,he still wont know where to change direction to,or even be able to gain height in such a short pace of time/distance.So basically the light-sticks are there for your use to see your kite,and or marker. Boart MSA or most well-stocked outdoor shops should have those light-sticks.
p.s I also intend to do some "garage-hunting" for stuff of kite-fishing interest this weekend.
