There is a casting association within the organised structures of angling in South Africa and the hold National Championships and selected members represent the country at World Championships
Basically there is casting with a multiplier and fixed spool. Minimum line diameter is 0.35mm and then there are weights and styles of casting.
Each has championship records that are determined during controlled competitions and many off the records are way over 200m
The controlling body of sport angling in RSA is SOUTH AFRICAN SPORT ANGLERS AND CASTING CONFEDERATION (SASACC)they are in turn affiliated to CIPS (International Confederation and casting is here http://www.fipsmer.org/

World Casting limitations per weight are in short, any rod and reel that can be fished with goes and a nylon leader that is wrapped 8 times around the reel in the cast and
The main line must be made of monofilament at least:
25/00 mm for 100 gr. weights
28/00 mm for 125 gr. weights
31/00 mm for 150 gr. weights
35/00 mm for 175 gr. weights
Mr Danny Moeskops of Belgium holds all the world Records
277,86 with 125gr weight on 0.28mm
265.42 with 150gr on 0.31mm
265.83 with 175gr on 0.35mm

I know after the last social at leeukop there were 2 people that did a full cast and didnt make the edge of the water.( not going to mention any names) but that must be some record for the shortest casts in sa.....
