Howzit Mate

I am hitting the Swartkops River, Gamtoos River and Kromriver here in the Eastern Cape in the next few days armed with my dropshot tackle, I am going to be targeting Leerie, Grunters, Kob and maybe even a skippie or two. I'll let you know how it went

Hey stander....good luck with the expedition and be sure to take lots of pics and give me a shout wen you return ! Tight lines mate and here's to hoping your line parts with immense speed and you retrieve it all back with a monster on the end!

Well tried dropshot once offshore over reefs but sadly the motion sickness played more a part than anything else hence i hardly fished and never got the chance to even fully try for a bonny...but wil be goin out again this time with proper precautionary measures tight lines

@ FStander

Swatkops is producing some nice size Skippies at the moment - first time in four years that the Skippies have been back in Swarties!!!!

Try around the "modderspruit", "skulpies area - the guys have been getting some nice specimens on plastics and fly. Use lures in the olive and white colour range as they have been working well for both the Skippies and Leerie.

Good Luck!!!

GONE FISHING..................

Just a nice to story i tot i'd share...one tht happened at tongaat mouth...my mates and i were dropshottin there and i was with my one mate side by side whilst the other guy was some distance away ...a few casts and somethin picked up my mate and immediately started peeling his spool and he proceeded to try and turn the fish as this was nothin short of a bus! As he turned it ,it seemed to come a bit easy and we breathed a sigh of relief but sadly only to once again cuss out in excitement as it turned again and continued to peel line only to eventually leave him with a parted leader and a stammer and tremble...and we stood there totally stumped as my other mate comes to us with the same shade of paleness on his mug ...amazingly as we were tussling with wat we believed to be a king he had the exact same experience ! Result 2 busses of fish lost with only the tale to be told....
