Adventure Buddy does it work?

Good Day

I've seen the Adventure Buddy mobile application been advertised all over the internet and magazines.

As I understand you need to subscribe to get more information from the application. The cost is as I understand R30-something per month.

Is this worth it? Has anyone used the application with success or is this just one of those things that catches fishermen and not fish? As I can see the information in the application is available on the internet for free.

Thank you for your feedback.

I don't have the app, but what my 2c is on this

1) If you are a individual who buys different magazines for different facets of fishing, then one can fork out 30 bucks for one app per month. Buying the stywe lyne every month will cost you more than the 300 you will be spending on a 12 month basis.

2)If you are only going to download it for a specific location, then well, locals know better and best is trial and error, part of the adventure.

3)Most videos and info regarding bait presentation and areas are widely available online.

4)It comes with discount perks and the promise a whole lot more. Now it's a waiting game to watch and see if the perks are worth it and if it will happen.

Only my opinion :)

Thank you for reply.

I share your point of view completely.

I ask this question because I have never heard/met anyone (online/on the bank) that is using this app.

There is other apps available that will do similar things for a once off payment.

I would not spend R30 per month on an app. I will have to fish different venues a hell of a lot to be able to justify that R30 a month...my 2c

I'm sure you will find people on line that registered, as it being a South African app.

I am using a similar app, fishbrain, although on the lite version (more expensive than adventure buddy) and there are locals on there.

Only for me, regarding looking for info on venues and info, we have sealine, and here are a lot of guys willing to help and share their knowledge and experience.

I think adventure buddy stil need to work out some bugs before one can actually rate it as worth it or not. The rating itself on app is not that good yet.

I agree with these posts.

I have learned more here on sealine and on the bank than anywhere else or any other technology.

If I can expand on this. How much does it irate you if the guy next to you talks on his phone the whole day and as loud as he could? Or even worse when your buddy is more interested in what is on his phone than in fishing with you.

Just some feedback on this app.

A friend of mine tried it for the 24hrs trail period and it turned out that except for the contact numbers nothing else worked. He send a mail to the developer and still hasn't heard from them.

Last night on "Hier Gaan Ons Alweer" they introduced a new app called Dreamcatcher. It is completely free and was designed for South-African fishermen.

If downloaded it and will be using it in the future.
