1st time in Transkei

Hi there

I will be going to Transkei (Kob Inn) for the first time at the end of April. We will be rock and surf fishing but i will be practicing drop shot as well. This will be my second time drop shotting, so my question to you is: What type of soft baits will you take along to this wonderful destination?? I have 3 types of worms already, but no minnows etc. What types of baits do you think will work best in this area?? Any advice for a rookie will be much appreciated

Here in EL the mcharty paddle tails work well. Guys have been smashing them in the surf and rivers. Depending on your kit, you can cast a 2once in the surf and a lighter weight in the rivers. The kob inn river does produce nice fish every now and then.
Do your self a favour and go and chat to the guys at the Hotel for more up to date info

thanks for the info. i thought paddle tails would be a good idea. will make sure to take a couple along. i will be fishing with a loomis & franklin heavy 8ft dropshot and shimano slade 4000 reel. i only have this kit to work with, so i hope this is good enough. can cast up to 2 oz with it. do you perhaps know who i should speak to at kob inn?? i dont mind phoning them to ask for advice.
