shad at umdloti south

Hi Guys

Look at this lekker shad I caught Saturday afternoon at Umdloti South, caught on mackerel fillet.

I almost lost it, I didn't have a steel trace on, as I walked away from the surf, it fell off, but I was close enough to grab it.

PS I was in my boxers cos we were the only fishermen on the beach at the time, if you've fished there you'll know how deserted that part of umdloti can be.

Will be going back there soon!

How far down do you walk from Umdloti main beach?

Hi,

I walked about 1.5 kms from the last house on south beach.

I think I'm going again this afternoon.

The walk was long, but it well worth it.

I hear that there's plenty of Natal stumpy in the area.

I want to try for one today

What lovely grunters, I still need to meet up with one that size.

I haven't fished that far south at night but during the day seems fine, normally its just my bro-in-law and I.

Parking is a prob cos u have to park at the main beach and walk south.

I have fished on the north at night and there's no problem there, cars are close to the spot.
