Hi Willem, that is a very good point!
Our design will have a decent set of guttering around a custom flush mount hatch lid with rubberising in the lip to insure a watertight seal. This has been quite design exercise trying to work everything out without affecting other parts of the boat. It is not as simple as many would think.
