Hi everyone

So I ordered this spectra 4x 10lb 0.12mm braid over wish long time ago and it arrived today. I did this before I discovered this forum.

What are your opinion on this braid for my super lightweight setup for exclusive lure fishing? I have a 6ft rod with a small shimano reel that I'll use for this. I use it for bass, trout and saltwater fishing. The odd yellow fish and baber must also come out on it.

Hopefully I'll be able to use it and it wasn't for nothing. But if you guys think it is totally useless, I'll rather keep my mono on the rod.

Thanx in advance

The info that I have read has been a total mixed bag... I guess the best way to sum it up would be with the term "inconsistent". Try it out, and hopefully you have a good batch.

Go to the nearest wide open space, tie one end of the braid to something heavy/immobile, walk away with rod till the spool is empty, then wind on a few turns and give the braid some real tension using the rod and your drag tightened up. If the braid breaks without reasonable tension on it then bin it.

go to a field, tie on different weight sinkers and throw some casts.. at least you can walk to fetch the sinker if it snaps..
take a bit of water and wet the line and try it wet and dry..
also helps to wind on the line with some tension from the sinker retrieval dragging over the ground.
