Hi All,

I am Ryan from Cape Town and have been snooping around the site for a couple of weeks now, and have learnt a few things as well as been entertained by the clash of opinions of the forum members :hyst:.

Fishing and boats is all new to me, usually I can be seen / found in the world of Tech and Motorsport, but after 1 or 2 invites to fish with friends I started taking interest in fishing.

I have you know that to-date I have caught 0 fish but as a new father, I want to start a hobby / tradition with my family / son something I was never exposed too and catch some big edible fish.

In advance I apologies for the stupid questions I will be asking.

welcome!!!

great family we have here.

please note, that it is possible that all your questions you have, have already been asked already and discussed.

so do use the search button and a gold mine of wealth awaits your finger tips.

the only new aspects regarding fishing is the equipment which constantly changes.

the basics are still the same and it will stay the same.

tricks of the trade is what you need to learn.

time spend next to the water cannot be bought.

that experience cannot be taken from you.

also, many facets of salt water fishing exists.
so you will not end up with just 1 rod and 1 reel.

enjoy your visit here.
