Z-Craft Business Up For Sale

Wishing all Sealiners a "Happy Easter", this Good Friday.

I see that the Z-Craft Boat Building Business is up for sale again??
I saw an add on OLX, not sure if it is a hoax?

Pity if it is....
Can't imagine what Peter would be thinking, seeing his "Z-Craft Legacy" slipping away.

I really hope that somebody can invest in the company, with a true passion for Boat Building and restore the "Z-Craft" brand to its former glory and reputation, such as when Peter was at the helm....

They are good Ski-Boats, and a boat building success for over 45 years.

Evening All,

I couldn't help but notice that the stalwart "Z-Craft" Advert, is missing in the latest issue of Ski-Boat Magazine.

I see their web-page has disappeared as well...

What a pity....

Evening,

Could somebody please confirm if Z-Craft is still operating or have they closed shop completely?

I need to have my Bouyancy Certification done...

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

z-craft is closed

I drove pass their shop few days ago , by the looks of things ,they completely shut down ,
the showroom was empty , all closed up and dark

I saw a sign poster at the driveway gate - for sale/tolet

there were only saw 3 or 4 used boats parked in the front yard

Uncle Cracker,

Agree with you whole heartedly.

I was hoping to upgrade, one day, to a "New" F200 myself....
Awesome boat with good looking lines.

No reason why you still can't.. Good boats that should last for a long time..

Ned I'm sure we have met, recognize your boat. I fished one day in December last year with Peter Bacchus and Corrie Steven's on Pete's boat Zeus. Think you beached next to us, we managed one Dorado. You guys had got some the previous day I think.

Uncle Cracker,

You Spot-on There!!

Peter and Corrie are old Family Friends, we go way back...

I remember the wind came up that day, had to run for home.
You guys got properly wet on the run home if I remember...

Was not the most pleasant of days to go fishing.
Thing is when you live up here on the Highveld, you make the most of whatever fishing time you have when down on the coast...

:?

Properly wet is an understatement, unfortunately not the driest boat in those types of conditions. Some nice Dorado there, well done!

Evening All,

Thought I would share what I think is darn good news, being a Z-Craft owner myself...

I see that DB Marine in Richards Bay have acquired the Z-Craft Moulds and are busy advertising for new Boat Builds...
Really hope they can get it off the ground and become successful in this new venture of theirs.

I am interested to know if anyone on the forum has possibly placed an order for a new Z-Craft Kingcat with DB Marine, and if so how is the New Build coming along...

I would like to see if they have tweaked and improved general layout and finishes within the helm of the boat...
It was never Z-Crafts strong point in my opion, but hey, the hulls are phenomenal...

Hi All!

Like me - I see that you were all mortified as Z-Craft closed their doors.
I personally grew up fishing on these boats and couldn't believe it when they closed their doors.
But, I have amazing news. Z-Craft and the Legendary Kingcats are Back!

Richards Bay based Company, DB Marine Services has officially taken over the Molds and build, giving some well needed tender loving care to these molds, keeping the original well loved design with a slight tweak here and there and now incorporating Modern Build Techniques with lightweight materials and the PASSION is back!

Read more about DB Marine Services the Builders of Z-Craft Kingcats in the latest Go Fish Magazine, or on www.dbmarineservices.com alternatively there is now a very active Facebook page.
