Sorry guys, Sealine is having a glitch and some threads have parts missing, while others like the one above, completely disappeared !

Don't worry though, as we are working our butts off, to get your reels sorted and ready for the holiday....."better casting reels for all"!

These reels all came in on Friday, so the midnight candle, is called for again !

Cheers !

Howsit CC ,

i was just wondering ,the spool on my saltist bg30h is not conductive
to magnets ...how does installing a mag it kit slow the spool down?

I know that a metal plate is stuck on the side plate and a magnet or two
is on it but how does it conduct to the spool????

Hi Derash !

When an electrical conductor (and aluminium is a brilliant one), moves through a magnetic field, a current is generated(read eddy current)and this current can suppress the movement of the spool.

That is the long and the short of it and the trick is, to get the right range of adjustability, by choice of size/strength of magnet, it's distance from the spool flange and it's position in relation to the radius of the spool.

Might sound like a mouth full, but all the footwork has been done for you and now you get your reel back, very close to, if not at the sweet spot and for additional finetuning, it is very simple and easy.

When you get to a reel like the Daiwa SL30SH, that has a synthetic spool, that is a non conductor, we fit a ultra light/thin lasercut aluminium disc, to the RH end of the spool, to bring the needed conductivity, for the system to function as designed !

Better casting reels for all !

Cheers !

As my original thread on this topic, went missing and it does not seem as it is going to be recovered, I will just post a few pics, to show the variety of multipliers, that visit us for MAG-IT fitment every week ...

Remember that it is retro fitting on existing reels, so lots of different kits were developed, for all the brands/models/sizes of reels and all were originally test cast, to calibrate the range of adjustability.

Better casting reels for all !

Enjoy the pics (and your casting) !

Cheers !

Such a privelage to get to know anglers from all over the country, with two goals in common ... cast better and catch more fish !

CS, thank you for putting me in contact with my local fitter of your product.

Kan nie wag om hulle te gan toets die vakansie nie

Its like ABS for reels.
Enigma and I were chatting today about folks balking at the suggestion of fitting mag-its; "You think I can't cast"
C'mon, would you disable your car's ABS system because you know how to cadence brake?
Probably not.
