He's got a few new tools and lathe that he is using to manufacture parts for reels that have been discontinued (their spares to) ie the Gold Trini's.

He's made new dog paws, Trini DC type click springs, ratchet plates, handles and pinion gears etc, etc.

He installs Carbontex Smoothdrag etc.

there is a reason why people are couriering their reels from all over the country to go over Old Salt's work bench.

In recent months i've seen more "soek saamry na kaapstad" for fishing reels than people.

I met Old salt about 3 years ago, since then all my reals go to him even my friends drop there reels with after there reels were their for the first time!

All i can say is i do the 50km drive and i know i get what i want and what my tackle deserves!
