Vaal river at Bloemhof

Can anyone be so kind as to list a couple of good venues on the vaal around Bloemhof. I am planning on going there in two weeks.

for carp yes, cats are starting to go off the bite ever so slowly... the bloemhofdam bonanza is t the end of april start of may

Booked 4 day's at Op die Wal from the 24.04 - 02.05.

Hopefully the fishing is good.

I am going to De Hoek and staing in Rooiborsswael from the 16th - 19th of May. Please let me know how you were catching.

Forgot to mention that i change my venue to Die hoek resort as well.

Spoke to a couple of people and Die hoek resort does not have that much "hak plekke in die water" as the others.

hey guys.... how was it?

Fishing was very poorly at De hoek, caught tons of very small grassies, 2 small carp and no barber.

I had good fun at Sandveld, spend a day there and i caught very nice and big carp.

One of the residents at De Hoek told me that the stretch of river isn't what it used to be, the fish population has decreased tremendously there are hardly any carp & muddies left.

Maybe I was at the wrong time there but I won't go back to that river stretch below the dam wall.
