Today while fishing at splash rock I saw ncs members come to check on fishing permits. I got a bite and lost a shad. My wife then brought my other rod to me on the rock. They fined her R1000 for fishing without a permit, When I showed them two blacks men fishing without permits they refused to check it. Did anybody else see this????

Unfortunatly its something we have to live with,they sell fish and prawn in broad daylight here ,and the officials just turn a blind eye while we have to fork out mega bucks for licences ,skippers tickets etc.just gets you blood pressure up

I refuse to accept that some poorly educated half wit thinks that he can impose his bullshit on me.f$#@$#$## aff action . Mark my words a day will soon come when black people beg other races to lead again. They are also fed up with the bullshit

I wish they would wake up and stop giving everything to China,I was reading an article and what they bassically saying is that China want to colonize ,in other words they are looking for place for their people to live ,so they reel you in and when you look again you have basically handed your country and all its mineral wealth ,etc to them.

So chaps start learning mandarin^^..^^..

So true Mouldie,they've started invading our country a long time ago.Here in my town, every second shop are chinks and they even sleep in the shops

Joh joh and then you get mad at them and before you know it your swearing, and the police arrives and next moment you are in jail. These days I just make sure I have a license and that everyone that is with me has one as well. It isn't nice learning the hard way....trust me.

Dont pay the fine, go to court, if everyone does that they will soon tire of standing in court for days on end and spoiling their gatskuur work ethic.

Good for you mate, hopefully you get a decent magistrate that will listen to you and make a reasonable judgement but like i said, lets flood the courts with these  crappy cases and it may just make a difference, how to rid ourselves of these incompetent officials is a story all on its own, perhaps canvass you're local MP.

good on you doc hoosen, take it to court. all the comments made here are relevent,katot and alwyn are correct.jvw and mouldie are spot on too,,,,,,
in g/bay there is 2or 3 china's, and in strand and s/west a lot more! don't see the xenophobia thing there,but this will become the ultimate threat.
(hope this is not too 'political' for admin,:SSS )
may not be strictly on the topic of being fined for the missus holding a fishing rod,(to help), but it is relevent.it is about resisting the intrusion of' authority'
over/ above what is normal and decent? call it what you will,,certain sections of SA society are getting 'targeted' by the people in charge,, i think mostly for financial gain, irrespective of race/colour etc,,,,,,,,,,,

I hope it goes in your favour in court! The way the parks board see it tho... Is they saw your good wife with a fishing rod she had not a licence for.. And if they had not seen her going for it, they are certainly thinking she has been using it before they saw her.

lets call a spade a spade ,what are the facts ?

Did your wife had a permit ? : No

Do you have proof that the black guys had permits ? : No

It is so easy to jump to conclusions ,the rule is simple : Stop at the Stop Sign, other wise you will get a fine for failing to do so.

There is nothing stopping you having a fishing rod... You can walk around on the beach with 500 fishing rods, if you are not fishing you dont need a licence.

I know at Witsand for example, my wife was with me and could hold the rod while i baited up etc.

As soon as she actually held it while it was in the water the parks board outjie was there, and asked for her licence, which she did have.

So i would say go to court. Expecting to have a licence while walking with a fishing rod is the same as expecting that old skedonk standing in the back yard that hasnt been driven in years and actually has chickens roosting in it to have a licence disk.

Ps rinex the wife has a permit and the black guyhas no permit even the ncs guy knows it. simpler rule ...know the facts first, like you said easy to jump to conclusions
