If you've got other R&S kit, I wouldn't bother with anything too expensive as the Cape Town area isn't great for dropshot. If you don't have any other kit it may be worth purchasing something you can use for Galjoen etc. A good quality, cost effective setup would probably cost in the region of R800. A Shimano Slade 2500 - 4000, a Shimano Bass rod with a cast range of 1/8 to 3/4 ounce and 125m 10lb Fireline. to upgrade to a reel with corrosion resistant bearings with probably cost another R400 - R600.
