I am looking for a good spinning rod for use on the boat in the region of 7 to 9 feet to b used for spinning lures off the boat.
Will be pared with a new shimano saragosa 6000 or 8000 . I wanders t to fish 20 pound braid as I want to enjoy the fight
Max lure size is 2 oz
We usually look for the birds then drift around them casting lures and soft plastics for golden traveller, Bonito, queenfish, cobia (not yet!!) And trying for cuta. I want a longer rod as we sometimes have to cast about 80m as the fish sound once you start the engines

I have used a Berkley air 9ft with a shimano stradic 4000 and found it struggle a bit. Used the air 10ft 6 Xh air and still lost fish but it casts well

I have looked at all the forums and the lists are huge - all personal preferences and suited for that specific fishery

Your advice would be appreciated

I have the Assassin Ocean Spin 8'. It is brilliant. Only gripe I have is the guides are those micro guides. They work I suppose but I generally like bigger guides.

Best rod I ever owned though was the Daiwa Exceler.

And a fantastic rod on a budget is the Daiwa Megaforce. This rod really is good.
