I found very strange the way Tre rigs these jigs.

The leader goes on this swivel that is placed on what I would call "the bottom" of the jig and connected to the assist hook.

It's is fished "upside down", those plastic things "fall" over the lead head as does the assist.....

@Fedu - these jigs come from Gladiator not Bennie, and I am glad to see that Tre fished them the way we told him to.

Thanks for the Report & Pictures.

@Tre - WELL DONE, I bet you are pleased :wfish

I will ask them to make some heavier ones for you 300-350-400gr

Strangely enough I have them and also some others "chunkier" formats that are heavier, made with "my colours" pink & lumo.

Got them in CT before going to Durbs, but did not rig them yet.

You must try them, imaging how big the next Wreck Fish could be, just fish them "upside down"

Yep, but remmember we were suposed to troll for Giant African Threadfin not jig for wreckfish.

I liked the jig, proper hooks for dealing with big fish.

Some time ago I got a much bigger one on a longer jig (FCL NATA custom colour) but at Lucira in Namibe.

And two years ago almost on the same place of Tre on my boat also a smaller one but allready nice size on longer jig also.

hehehehe, you should see the monsters I managed to locate for my uncle and father in law at Lucira, even bigger than mine.

The problem there is that I can not fish, heavy current, just locate fish, skip and try to maintain lines vertical, power drifting.

Every time I say I'm going there the guys leave everything and run to meet me hoping for an even bigger prize, last time my uncle got one +40Kg.

I go there 2 or 3 times a year.

Unfortunatly my old camera got broken and I lost the pics, my uncle has a pic on his camera but it's 1.000 Km away from Luanda and no internet.

Excellent Job Tre and Fedu,

Will have to see if there are any of those wreck fish around here in Senegal; probably the only fish left here with all the local fishermen cleaning out the ocean!

Fedu your new boat is killer, Miami Vise style - i like it. The boat in which i went fishing on Sunday here in Dakar was about 25ft long, had a 15hp motor and a top speed of 7 knots so i am very envious of your speed machine.

My ride for this coming Sunday fishing trip

Cooking waves and no one surfing; can’t wait for my boards to arrive

They have similar fish to SA here, Blacktail with a twist and I also saw a boat load of Streepies (Caranteen)

This pelican was harassing the ladies selling fish and it was very persistent

The sheep over here have legs like camels

Hopefully I will have some fish pics on Monday.

Hi Mark,

Good hearing from you, your pics still amazing.

Hope the shoulder is fine now and you manage to deal with our west african fish, they don't bite as easy as east african ones :)

Those boats are different from ours here in Angola they have that round thing in the back, intresting.

P.S. - That "Miami Vice" is not my new boat it's still the old one from when I did not fish as much as today.

Blaasoppie you make me happy to know I'm not the only one fishing from one of those. Except mine is 'blinged' with rodholders allover for trolling and stowage, a fishfinder, gps, roof and most important a floor! Mine is about 12 m in lenght and only 2 m wide which I had build brand new with a 40hp enduro.

What can I say, when you are desperate you'll do strange things to satisfy your urge! But she has served me well so far.

how about a few pics? I love the look of those boats - the extention at the back looks like some kind of bull-bar for protecting the outboard? either that or some kind of platform to hop onto when pushing the boat thru the surf.
