Rod Shattered in 2 spots on cast

hi guys.
i had an Ogre cast My medium heavy , on the beach . sinker only .
the obvious happened.
what surprises me , is that the rod shattered at both the Tip , as Well as on the mid Section .

If i Remember corretly , i Was once told by Ray de bruyn why this occurs, but cannot rememebr .

is there anyone who can shed any light on this for me .

just putting it out there i know of rods that knocks up each other (guides) was the rod at any point in its life being knocked up by another rod whilst in transit?

i let my cousin cast my Poseidon (MH)6-9 pops the tip!

uuummmmm...I would hazard a guess:

1. Yes the rod was bumped at some point in time (considering the fact you are living out of a box)...no offense!
2. The rod was overloaded!
