Rod paint removal

Guys I want to know which is the best way to remove old
paint from a rod, i saw some videos with guys using a blade 90 degrees
to rod blank and scraping off the old paint......

Is there a simpler way to remove the paint and bring it to a matt finish?

Will paint stripper work,or will it be to harsh and damage the rod blank?
If it does work is it safe for glass fibre rods and carbon graphites?

Sorry for so many questions ......I got an old rod (glass fibre)
that i would like to refurbish.

Thanks guys.

Paint stripper is fine.
You will still need to use the blade at 90 degrees though. Just much less work when the paint is soft.
Paint stripper will do NOTHING to epoxy on guide wraps.
