pendulum cast with B M g3 14-4-6

good day to all sealiners

got few question's for the SA casting experts

i got few months ago a BM G3 14-4-6 special edition 3 pc

that i use for light fishing for small eds ,casting 4-5 oz

on the L-tip , and 6 oz slide sinker on the M-tip

for the light set i use daiwa sl30sh with 0.45 mono

for the medium set i use penn sqwall 40 with 0.50 mono

usually i cast a slow flat arc pendulum type of cast

-so how safe is it to use this style on the BM rod becase

it is a 3 pc and not the classic 2 pc UK style rod ?

- can i go for full on pendulum cast on the M-tip with a 6 oz

slide sinker as i did with my AFAW SIX@BAIT 14FT (2-PC )?

This is how a T53 7oz looks with not even a full pendulum.

hallo again
after reading this-http://www.sealine.co.za/view_topic.php?id=93222&forum_id=1&page=5
i got under the impression that casting the P-cast could be done
with my B-M 30T rod because , when i look at the S A \ hateras cast on the videos it seems allot more violent
and aggressive than the slow 270 deg flat swing pendulum cast
i use

has any off you boys and girls has used this rod and can tell me what are the safe limits ,and casting weight for this rod ?

I had one. It is a lovely rod for fishing with. Pendulum casting, or distance casting is a whole different kettle of fish.

thanks for the replays dolos
i"m not after competition distance casting, my beach is very flat , and i need around 150 m to cast past the surf break
for sliding
i"m to afraid to break this rod if i hummer it
with a 6 or 7oz slide sinker :shock::shock::shock:

In many books 150m is a long cast. Using a 7oz on that outfit will work for a 'lob' cast. I had one and broke two midsections. It really is in the medium class, not medium heavy. My experience may be isolated, lets see what others with them say.

I would.

You are an accomplished angler/caster if you have mastered the full pendulum.

I would do a 60% power on a 6oz or a full cast with a 4oz and I'm sure the road won't even fully load with the 4oz step up to 5oz and then when you have the feel of the rod do a full cast.

I have clients who do full Pendulums with 200m+ Casts with the Shimano Exage 1468 and the Blue Marlin Super slim 3 pieces and these anglers are in Australia, Dubhai, Japan and Indonesia and they have bought the 3 piece for travel convenience.::tight:

Enigma, it was not the 3 sections that had me worried, but the use of 6 or 7 ounce sinkers on a pendulum.

It's a 6oz rod and it'll handle a 6oz Pendulum fishing swing, handling a full power 100% Tournament cast might be a bit different.

As I also mentioned rather start on a 4 or 5oz on the 6oz tip and the rod will tell you what is going on.

Also remembering that a full pendulum relies on a very long arc and swing building momentum and not a short powerful punch through the rod.

i have been practicing lately on the BM G3 rod the S-A HATTERAS cast, casting 6oz sinker no bait with penn squall40 and 0.50 mono getting 100-110 MT distance
can this rod cast 6oz+bait using S-A Hatteras cast ?
or 7oz slide sinker only ?

Hi

Yes a 6oz and an general use bait. Putting a huge bulky bait weighing 3 oz, out of the question, squid and sardine belly and a 6oz will be fine.
