Anybody does spinning in Natal and Zululand?

What lures etc do you use please. Will be going down again in July and maybe earlier to St Lucia and Margate.

Thanks.

Hey bud. Try the search function! Not being funny boet but your trip is almost a year away lol?! Okay , so you'll need - iron candies (chartreusse and pink ), toby spoons, white and pink chisel nose plugs, some small stick baits and poppers. Bucktails in olive white, blue white and pink white, drop shots , 4inch pearl watermelon, baby shad, orca, chartreuse, nuclear chicken , goldfish. That should do you

Thanks for the advice.

I know it is still a while before I go but I want to get all the goodies I need.

I want to plan my trip properly and enjoy it.

Thanks

I do quite a bit of spinning in the St Lucia and cape vidal areas whenever I can, and have been quite fortunate of late. Got a good garrick on spoon this year and plenty shad. My best advice, is fish iron candy spoons with glow, chartreuse and orange being tops!

The variety of fish that take these spoons is really fantastic. Second to these spoons, have a go with drop shot. Natural colours like pearl olive and pearl blue are great, as are bright colours, namely chartreuse. Fish the 3 inch and 4 inch minnow predominantly.

In the st lucia area with the above lures, fished correctly, common species are shad, wave garrick, kingfish, garrick, bastard mullet and natal snoek every now and then. good luck

I only fish the number 1 and number 2 iron candy spoons. It really depends on the conditions, how far you need to throw and your target species. On an average day, I use number 1 in the bay at vidal and on the lower tides at st lucia, and number 2 off the beaches in st lucia on the higher tides. This is by no means a rule.
