Can anyone plz advise on where to fish in and around Margate? Seems like people around here don’t care much for outsiders, As a novice it feels like locals want us to go. Plz come and visit the highveld dams I will show you what hospitality means. Ffs!

Type Margate in the search box, there are 517 post with the word Margate and start working though them, there will be a lot of info there. You may want to find these things out before you get there.(sounds like you are already there).

Both your post are under the wrong forum headings but I am sure Admin will move them.

3 posts in three years eish! Participate a bit more there is really a lot to learn on this forum, good luck.

Thanx for the advice will scroll through them. Not posting does not necessarily mean im not an active user- I often browse through content, mostly carp and bass related. We seldomly visit the coast.

go visit Gremlins fish tackle shop and chat to them. they will help you.
You can fish at margate pier or orange rocks. These spots get very crowed, or splash rock in port Edward.

Thanx Mike, will definitely go and check it out. Went to the pier at around 4.30pm, really crowded and as a novice, rather stayed in the bakkie instead of getting a klap for crossing lines with the avid fishermen, saw what happened to Leon Schuster! Checked out what the guys were using, does not seem to complex. 3swivel, 1ounce weight and on the hook for bait, sardine/squid? Does that sound right?
