Reels-after eah trip rinse yor reel in fresh warm water always ensuring your drag is tight before doing so to stop the water soaking into the drag system using abrush also helps to remove excess salt and sand. Leave the reel for a few hours to dry properly then spray with silicone.This will protect and ensure less corosion takes place in those difficult to clean areas of the reel. Once you have proprely cleaned it loosen the drag and store in the bag which it was supplied.Ones reel should be serviced after every three trips.
Rods-Always ensure that yor rod is dry before putting it away in a bag.If the rod is wt the seat of the eyes will rust and the foam grip will grow mouldy.Once you've wiped it down a spray of silicone will do wonders in protecting it from damage.
Hooks-i fing that putting a little cake flour at the bottom of my hook box helps prevent corrosion, extending the lifespan of those expensive hooks.
