The Surf ll regular is the best option. I have one with me that Im building and its perfect for that rating and action. Superlight but with good power and excellent tip recovery.

They are day and night. That Surf II is an amazing rod. The Nano light is very parabolic. I had to have mine rebuilt. I had low riders guides on it and changed to single foot k guides for all but the first two and took 2inches off of the tip. Huge difference to the rod.
The SurfII is a quicker action rod. It has a much nicer profile to it due to the 60/40 split. It is like a popping rod where the tip is the male and the base is the female. The tip is 60% of the rod.
I love my 10'6 L for cob and leeries in the Surf as it has a great bend to it and is fantastic to fight fish on especially with braid and fish that shake their heads.
The SurfII has much more stopping and pulling power which is better for the Cape yellowtail application. It is also a more accurate casting rod which is critical with sight casting to cruising fish.
Both rods will get the job done. I have caught many tail on the 10'6. I just feel that the SurfIIis more suited to the cape fishery with one exception being the railway line.
Thanks all for your input, I've had a look at the BH Yellowtail rod and it is a beaut, at 10'7",actual length, it will be hard work to use as a stickbait rod but perfect otherwise. I'm looking at a 9' blank Brandon has, casts down to 60g but with a very strong butt. Hope to see an example soon....
