These floats are very handy if you want to send baits out to the backline using Kitefishers method discribed in his posts using the Roller Troller clip. These you use to take your bait out very easily as they are very bouyent but have enough weight to control the depth you want to keep your bait. I added a bit of weight by putting some lead in the side the is going to face down wards, i have found they should weigh about 1 kilo to do the job.

On the orange float, which i bought at a dive shop, i cut all their cables and clips off took the end caps off, added the lead, i then put a graphite tube (stainless tube would be better) through the centre so that your leader can run smoothly through the centre when you are varying depths on your bait. You can use the float to skip your bait on the surface or for jigging. I also find this method makes bringing in your kite much easier in strong wings.

This is one method i use with float and Aftco Roller Troller where one sends the kite out and once in the desired position you then pull your bait out with your other rod. I use this setup when fishing off rocky areas, the small pink float can run up or down about 2m of nylon trace which is attached by a swivel to your hook trace. When you let go your bait trace and start hauling it out, this pink float runs down close to your hook trace and floats your set up through the rocks and gulleys, once out at the back line the float runs back up to the top and the bait sinks down to what ever depth you allow it. The ball sinker counter acts the floats bouyency( Tested in the swimming pool as well, the neighbers probably think think i not quiet well up there).

Genius There with the Pink float dudo .
So Pulling it through the water , lifts the bait an Crap Over the rocks .
Soon as you stand it still- Plops the bait down to Required distance , and floats to the top swivel .
