This is my favourite kite. The Monster Kite from http://www.hiflykites.co.za This kite i use the most, 5km to 20km per hr wind, any higher you can go sking with it. No tail needed, but i some times add a small drogue 2m behind it which gives the kite more pull and makes it even more stable when tacking into the wind, i have had it close to 50 degrees. Takes 20 secs to set up and a match stick to tack it, you do this by puting a catspaw knot in the bridle rope the opposite side you want to tack the kite, and up you go for a quick test run. i will put some pics on other kites some from New Zealand at a later stage.

I dont like long tails on a kite especially on the rocks they tend to get in the way for me anyway.

Some more Kites,Australian manufactured .These kites only have two vertical spars ,fairly soft ones at that. They use a drogue as a tail.
