home made roepstok

hello everyone the reason i started this topic is because maybe some of the sealiners want to know to make a roepstok to save money and to save time looking for it. Any comment and advice are welcome :wfishso come on sealiners lets share our idea of making a roepstok ::S

Will someone please tell us what a roepstok is.

a roepstok is a rod that is used to roep, a method used to catch barbel. the rod is usually quite a bit longer than usual and is used to dangle a loodkoppie a meter or however far from the tip. you tap tap tap swirl swaai swirl the surface and a whiskered friend hears the surface activity and on his way up sees the loodkoppie dangling infront of his snout. its so irresistable that he chows down and fish on.

the rod is also a through line rod. meaning it has no eyes and the line runs along the inside of the blank so that the dense vegetation in which one usually calls or roeps doesnt tangle the line

So I take it, it won't work on GW's.

 Sounds like a Redneck tool to me.

You'd be a Redneck if...... had a roepstok.

I was joking but dental work never bothered me.

I'll help the oke make a roepstok if I can just see what it looks like.

the second one shows how the line enters the rod. its a case of redirecting the line through a small hole into the blank. the inside of the blank should be more than smooth enough to be safe. the tip just needs an insert or something that protects the line when the pressure is on the line against the tip.

Deon Brits made one. other okes have made them.

google "through line rod"
