Beautiful venue with lots of fish and can get very busy at times.
Had success there with worms (can be bought at the shop where you pay entrance fee). Use rietvlei slide trace and normal vaal dam bomb.
You need to wade in to cast to get good distance as the bigger fish are sitting deeper.
Sweet floaties (caramel, raspberry, pinksweets etc) will also get you bites but from small to average fish ... will keep you busy and on your toes. I have noticed that the bigger fish prefer worms (maybe because they have a better protein content). Fish with a loose drag as the fish are skittish. A tight drag will result in fish dropping the bait at the slightest feel of tension on the line.
Be prepared for screaming drags as the bigger carp there are powerful, and make sure you carry a landing net as the water level is very low and landing the bigger carp is very tricky.

Skaby, worm should also attract barbel but a "poison" bait for barbel is fresh grass carp head with the gills attached or the whole grass carp rigged live. Small carp will also work but still comes second to grass carp. Dont be shy and think that your bait is not big enough ... with tekki beks, the rule of thumb is the bigger the bait the bigger the fish.
Check the picture of the big tekkie bek in the shop ... i would guestimate that it is in the region of 18kg and was caught at Draaifontein.

SO FROM THE THREE TREES IN THE WATER ABOUT A 100 METERS FROM THERE I SHOULD FISH AT 160 TO 200 M DEPTH FOR THE BIG ONES LOL THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP IF YOU DON'T HEAR FROM ME ON MONDAY LOL NO IM ON A GOOD ROLL N NEVER YET MADE IT BACK LOL J.J WILL GIVE A REPORT BACK ON MONDAY AND HOPEFULLY PICS IF I CATCH THANKS AGAIN GUYS REALLY GREAT HELP
good morning all my reports goes like this got to draaifontein aroung half 3 sat was very full looking for a spot right of the trees some guys were packing said we shouldnt fish der they getting stuck one way so decided to move to anther spot going left of the tree towars the fence round the bend we found a couple of guys packing up said we should fish der great spot so we strted to un pack around 4 pm put in one rod around 4 15 pm at 4 25 pm my rod took of pulled out a 4 kg my best size ere was aroung a 2 kg befre this so that was all we had for saterday afternoon around 10 30 pm the wind came with ouyt warnig rods were droping on the floor so we decided to pack up as we were pulling out the rods a caught a 4 kg barbel wich for 12 years im trying to catch even a 500gram 1 so this made my day 
jumpt in the tent with the guys and waited out the wind stoped around 4 am set up again around 4 30 put in rod 1 for barbel whle setting up rod 2 barbel took out came a 8 kgbarbel we had rain sun wind yesterday but was a good trip the guys with me caught 3 silvers nothing over a kg so all in all was a good trip nice place will deff be going back der broke my records der lol thanks for all the advise guys heres the pic of my catch
