Hi Crusty,

No nothing from the police yet - they viewed everything an that was that.

I have gone through the same thought process and have done some investigation. The best unit I have found and am using Mtracks units elsewhere.

I can give you Fred Martins details should you decide to go that route.

Hi Crusty

That is a brilliant idea no one will ever think of looking for a tracker in a boat. And if you ever get in to trouble at sea the tracker can also be used to find one fast.

Brilliant idea

Sorry to hear that Andy, you must be furious?

If you don't mind posting those details, i'm sure there will be a couple of interested sealiners.

At this point in time i'm just keen to test a unit to see what range they have offshore. But i'm definately keen!

Hope your luck turns! As a matter of interest was the boat insured and did you mention this to the cops? i find that this makes them less interested in actually apprehending the culprits and retrieving the stolen property!

Hi Crusty,

Yep you can call fred on 0837004407, they have a self contained unit about 1.5X the size of a cigarette box that you can hide strategically - The battry will last up to 6 months depending on the amount of reporting you want it to do and you can set tamper and move alarms. It uses the GSM network to get a proximity to a tower and then they have a recovery service (the guys with the guns) who trigger a radio beacon which they follow.

Unfortunatly it was my "toy" bought and paid for so I didnt insure it - The motor was a 96 model (although literally brand new to me - spotless) and my normal insurance wasnt interested.

I'll just have to save for another or go speak to the bank.

@ Jeanswart - Sure I can email you the footage.

There was an incident on Sunday night where 4 Asian males in a similar described bakkie stole 2 vehicles. Last I heard were they were tracking them as they both had tracking units in them - no feedback other than that. Also on Friday late afternoon a house has hit around the courner - favorite tactic at the moment is a hit and run type operation where they bash the door in and collect all the elecronic goods in less than a min and flee. Something is fishy in the area as ADT have a foot-patrol in these roads and there is footage of the ADT guys following the car they used out of the area. The foot patrol aparantly reported the car used and the response vehicle escourted the perps out doesnt make sence. The footage is from someone up the road and around the corner - unfortunatle not in the direction my boat went though.

What email can I use - the relevant clip is around 5 megs
some security co. okes work hand in hand with the crooks
they let them know when no one is at home and if it is called in by one of the nieghbours they take long to respond thus letting the perps get away
but i skeem that your boat was probably on order
good luck getting it back
ps. do post that reg/. no. if you get it will keep a look out
what wont they steal these days

I wouldn't hold my breath on SAPS doing anything at all. If you realy want it back get hold of a private investigator(it will be cheaper than buying a new one). Theres a guy in Hillcrest , Brad Nathanson (i think thats how you spell it) he's in the telephone directory, give him a call and see what he says.

SAPS stands for Sit And Play Sillybuggers. Everyones an Inspector now, no more Konstables and everyones got their eye on the clock and not the docket. Good luck.

You can contact him at bradnathanson.co.za. he's the guy who got the Jess Foord rapists within hours (?) while SAPS were still picking their noses. I don't know him from Adam but I know the Foord family very well.

Hi Matthew - Nope still no luck and/or feedback - hopefully someone will spot it over time.

Have bought a very tired trimcraft and will do it up this year - cant cough up for a new one in these financial times. Makes one want to spit!

Contact all boat dealers and check the Junkmail. They are stupid and most probably need the money for drugs. Phone where they register the boats and report it stolen. Put a reward in the local paper. Also watch the internet for rubberduck sales.
Hope you get the bastard but give him to me for target practice on the shooting range. Will pull aplastic bag over his head and stick sharp sticks under his nails. Pour honey over him and tie him naked over a red ant heap. He will wish he was never born if I get hold of him!! Put a IV into him and let the blood drain out and give him salt water to drink.
That is why we dont need cops, they are useless and hope the insurance pays out, if not tough luck for you.
If I catch a burglar in my house he would wish he was never born. The cops will never know cause I will go dump him in a mine shaft after I am finished with him.

Good luck bud and hope you get your duck back cause it is sentimental to you.

Andy, you say the cops know who these oaks are cause they wanted for other crimes?? Why dont they go get them??????? Surely they know these guys movements etc!!They just to lazy to get off there butts and do something about this! I think the neighbourhood watch should also approach ADT management and sort out the issues!! Send the story to Carte Blanche and see if they respond!!

My mates ski boat was parked at his house and guys drove down the driveway hooked up the boat and drove out while he was on the farm for the weekend. The neighbour saw them and thought it was his mates taking it to the river. He phoned him the next morning and asked him why his friends didnt return the boat! Still has heard nothing about it or seen it in 6 months, cops just say sorry sir!!

Anyway good luck and i hope the "Sealine Policeforce" can help you recover your boat!
