Hi guys im looking to join a fishing club. Not sure how to go about it,where do i join up,what are the costs...what benefits to you get when joining a club compared to going solo
HI - the main reasons for joining a club are to improve your angling and to enjoy the comraderie of like minded people. there are also clubs which are focused on recreational angling - where the members mainly compete against one another and the other clubs are part of the Western cape shore angling association where there is a league and the emphasis is on the competitive side of angling with the main focus being on inedibles because the competitions are based on weight. - the costs tend to be a little higher and i suspect also the intensity - but you will learn a lot . You probably have to budget about 400 a month for competitive angling - which would cover your bait and consumables as well as your club fees . This would exclude the costs of your equipment like rod , reels etc
