Hi guys.
You are permitted to take bait across the border.
Produce your purchase slips or even better a receipt in A4 format from the tackle/bait shop is good enough.
Be nice and helpful to the Border Officials if they stop you and have the documentation on hand.
The process normally includes a quick peek, but if you are difficult with them they tend to take longer going through all your bait!
Good quality bait is available in Henties but there times when its not great, so we eliminate the risk and get everything fresh from ZA!
White Mussel however you can get fresh in Henties just make sure you have the necessary permits and know your daily limits.
Here's a little recon on documentation that we take:
A) Fish Import License (from Nam to ZA)
1. Copy of Certified ID
2. Complete Import Papers
3. R505 per license
4. To be decided how many are needed per car
5. This allows for 10 fish per Specie per person
B) Namibian Fishing License: Get in Nam
