I'm newbie and hope to have a grand time here and hopefully make a few fishing buddies along my tenure here.
More about me; spent most of my life up country and basically fished every hole and cranny that is large enough to hold fish ever since I was 3 years old. Tiger fish in the Zambesi River and lake Kariba annual highlights most December months.
Otherwise blou kurper was my game and now and then a carp or two. Fished all the waters from Mozambique to Harties and every place in between that held kurpers. I fished mainly from my boat and my biggest Blou Kurper landed was 3.68kg at Renosterkop dam in northern Transvaal in 1997, which, by the way is my favourite fishing hole.
Soon I'm moving house to my son and grand kids in Bellville in Cape permanently and time for a new adventure in my life. Although I had the opportunity to wet a few lines with a friend of mine in Jeffery's Bay off his boat boat, fishing in the blue pond will now be my new passion.
My first point of business is to get a new proper blue water fishing boat and is considering a 17ft Kosicat or 17ft Seacat.
Secondly probably join Oceana Powerboat club in Cape Town to launch etc.
Lastly get a fishing buddy to show me the ropes and tricks of sea fishing.
I would probably make a fool of me here with questions that may sound simple but hey, by asking is the only way to learn..
