good day to you all kite fisherman/woman my nam

good day to you all kite fisherman/woman

my name is eyal i live on the north coast of israel

and during winter in here (October-march) we get the big fish

migrating along the coastline the big edibles here are-king mackerel and amber-jack (10 -30 kg) the non edible are-grey sharks and rays (50-100 kg)

i usually take my baits out to 300-200 mtr with my kayak or with balloons , baits i"m using is are : whole squid ,live mullet , live blue-runner all in the 0.5-1 kg range

my rod and reel 13ft-6-7oz + size 45 reel with .40 60lb spectra line

during winter we get offshore winds 15-30 KNOTS !!! blowing
so it is very easy to send out bait with balloons but my biggest problem is boats running on the waterline along the beach + wind direction is some time not 90deg to the baech

so first of all can i use a kite to carry the live fish bait to drop it that distance keeping it alive and kicking ? i actually need the kite to fly 1-2mtr above the water

what type of kite should i use and what is the additional equipment that i need- swivels, clips, sinkers (i have a 1.5mtr 80lb trolling rod+penn 113h reel 60lb line)for kite rod ?

can any of you mate please advise me of an online shop to buy all the stuff i need to get this kite method going here in israel ?

::tight: thanks allot eyal

Have a look at
http://www.radicalkites.co.za/fishing-kites

I use their Falcon kite. Great kite - very stable and easy to set up.
You can use their bait carrier system or a dropper set-up to get your baits out.

thanks allot for the quick replays _seal1__seal1_

still i wanted to ask if any you guys sends out a live bait (mullets , ect) with a kite and how is it done ???

if dropping a livie with a bait ferry wouldn't kill it bcause of hitting the water falling from the bait ferry ?

my best chances is keeping the bait fish alive as possible

thanks again eyal

hy all

wanted to thank willie from muller kitefishing for the great service i got from them it took ages for the shipment to get all the way over to israel and than got lost in the israely post office for few weeks
sorry willie for all the hassle i got you in
and thanks again
i will try to post some of my progress with the seagull kite
i"m still fishing with the small caughtinflight kite
and got my first fish a month ago
its 1.25kg pinksnapper
whole quid bait 8-0 circle hook
we get those up to 5-6kg here in israel

nice fish there.

looks similar to our natal stump nose!
do you have some better pictures where colours are more visible?
also the teeth, mouth area.

good to hear that you received your setup!

now time to do the hard yards, getting some fish to bite! and posting pictures!!!

try this cause i don't have any pic of this fish

never caught it surf fishing only spearfishing , and boat-fishing

that's actually good news because they are usually in water over 20 mtr deep accompanied by sand gropers

so i will try and target this fish with squid this winter kitefishing
