Good day

I bought a Elbe fishing reel from a local second hand store and it seems to be in quite good condition. The markings is mostly worn off, all that is left is the ratio 6.1.1 'Super Speed'. Can anyone please give me some info on this reel - reliability, best application, availability of spares and the quality of the Elbe brand. I've seen quite a lot of comments on the Elbe Waverunner rod but none on any reels.

Can you post pics of it? If it looks similar to a sl50 it could be the Elbe Procast 50.

Bought mine from Roland. Ditto to his comment.

Howzit Johan welcome!!

How much did you pay for the elbe reel and what size is it.

I do have a brand new size 30 loaded with .43 araty diamond line lying around, they are really good for edibles like garrick, kob, shad etc

I saw one in a shop here for R730. That's a bit too much isnt it?

It was the 15 one, the 10 was going for R150 cheaper....

Hi Johan

Just re-spooled my Pro-cast 50 with double-x .40 24lb (10.91kg) white flourescent line. To my surprise it took the full 600m roll. So also has good line capacity.

Looking forward to a few size steamers and cob on that reel. Should be fun for a few small sharks around the bell-bouy off UPE.

Very smooth drag, Roland replaced the washers just before I got it from him, so if you want to replace drag washers give him a shout and Im sure he will help you out with what to use.

Cheers

Geezer 52.
