Good afternoon everyone.

I am just wondering if anyone can give advise on how to properly secure your kite rod in the beach sand once the kite is deployed? Not too complicated please..

Thanks a lot! 😃🎏

go look on this website: http://www.fishingkites.co.nz/

or...use two sand spikes...one for your kite rod...another attached to your kit rod's sand spike (use a rope) and bury the spike deep into the sand, with the rope at say a 30~45 degree andgle (like a tent peg)

This ought to hold your kite/spike...in the sand.

Short sandspike with 12mm x 50cm solid roundbar. Jam it all the way in at a 45-60 degree angle (away from the water)

I am in the process of starting up with kite fishing and need some guidance. I am looking to buy a kite reel, I was wondering if a Penn 9/10 reel would be right for the job?

Hallo Volla

I am not too sure what that Penn reel looks like.. However, I bought a second hand 10 inch KP reel. Worked like a charm for me especially when reeling the kite back in. Goes much faster because of the size of the reel. Very handy when you have to reel 400m of line back..

Anyway, I did some kite fishing with my Mullers Kite at Glentana, Groot Brak and Mosselbay this December. The kite worked beautifully, but I guess there were no fish to caught as I did not catch any. (That is what I keep telling myself and my friends to feel better..)

I didn't catch much in December either 😟
I've got a 10" KP on the way. Test flew my kites in the park today.
How do you anchor your kite rod on the rocks?
