Hi all
I have a Garmin Echomap 50s that I got with my new boat. It kept restarting, so I decided to remove it from it's Sikaflex jail, but while doing this it stopped working completely.
After opening the unit, I realised that the screen's pins came loose from the circuit board. Does anyone know where I can take it for repairs and a good alcohol cleaning of the circuit board? I would think that it needs to be someone skilled in heat soldering or SMT. I am based in Cape Town.
The pins look almost like an old IDE connection and similar to the below image:
