Electroplating anyone done this

I molded a spoon with mold max 60 and thought it would look kind a nice to electroplate the flat side with copper

My understanding of electroplating is that you'd need a conductive material onto which you electroplate. I am aware of other methods of metal coating but not sure of the actual technology. However if I was wanting to do it onto mouldmax, I reckon I'd opt for a foiling technique because it's really simple to do.

Ok... got it. The 2nd photo had not yet uploaded.

I did that quite often when I was a kid with a chemistry set :)

No reason why it would not work.

Thanks Doc it was a lot easier to do but I'm having adhesion problems. I think it's got to do with the fact that I didn't clean the spoon enough and the copper is getting blown off because of inadequate electrical contact with the wire that I hung the spoon on in solution.

Gr8 to see our DIY section is not totally dead.

Pse share or do a Tut on yr method pse.....I for one will be very interested & will most probs find the most expensive way to do it......why simply cause I want it done iro cost......but if I can do it myself with less pricey items then why not ? & am sure that our fellow DIY enthusiast will enjoy yr Tut.
