Daiwa 350H

I have an old Daiwa 350H that I had spent some money on to "dolly it up" a bit. New frame, new spool and handle. The only problem is the drag!! or lack thereoff!! I cannot get the drag to work properly. I have bought new washers and still the drag is non existent. Tightened to the max, it still releases line if you pull hard. I accept it not being the same technology as todays Saltists or Toriums ,but, it should at least tighten up more. I cannot get the drag to "lock up" I even used my chokka mallet to tighten it and it still slips.I have been told by a "reelguru" that these reels are notoriously bad with drags. I use it on the reefs to catch spotties and smoothounds so I need something with a better drag.

Anybody outhere with more knowledge on these reels??

I sold it , as is!! New owner got it sorted with new, thicker leather washers and a spacer.

Ok . Should not have any problem ,with the drags on those reels. They are like bull dozer when correct
