Blackhole Nano Surf ll Heavy

Black Hole Cape Cod Surf II Heavy 12ft prototype -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA0I_eIBls8

"quote" Mike casts about 700' using a 12' prototype Black Hole Cape Cod Surf II Heavy with 8 oz sinker.
He used a regular reel ( Truth reel)/ 60 - 70lb braid.
Mike said the rod is one of a kind and is the best surf rod he ever used.
He said the rod is good for 10 - 12 oz, even 14 oz.

I saw this BS,

I had an argument with an american builder about it. I said they could probably get even more distance if they changed there layout.....LOL!

Talking of which....I have come across a guide concept which to me is similiar to KR but more superior:shock:

Could probably add even more distance easily...with lighter lures...much lighter...even in strong winds. Going to put this on my personal Spinning rod build for sure!!

I thought it was a remarkable achievement with the given layout of the rod -

Talking of which.... There are quite a few guide layouts/concepts similar and superior to KR.
- Most of my spinning reel rod builds avoid the general BS laid out by certain companies marketing.
- albeit wonderful information and highly recommendable.

If you would like to test your superior guide concept with definitive results ,try this .
Tape your guides onto your rod ,find a field with a strong crosswind and hit the wall up there as hard as possible with the BiG sledge hammer(so to speak)when you cast. This will deliver many coils hard and fast towards the reducer/choker/manager/catcher guides and then you can see how they/it cope/s ?

Drive it as hard as you can and have a video camera capture the event. - Video analyse your findings and take your guide train (ing) to another level.
I like spinning reel builds, .. all and always variable .

please ,Show us your findings!

Ja.. look I dont fully agree with the reality of tournament casting an 8oz lead vs throwing a 5oz popper. They must show us more realistic viewpoint.

Ive been spending alot of time reviewing guide set ups for spinning rods lately and have seen some great stuff. I'm very excited to see what can be done. Such a pity though that titanium guides are out of our reach. Its also not always about the casting though. The rod itself must get its full potential out by proper guide spacing. The bend or curve properties etc. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks - Good luck with building a balanced rod.
Personally, I prefer a rod that is a pleasure to fight with. Good power transfer and all that.- 60/40 maybe.
Casting setup rods are k@k to play fish with. Especially when the fish are under your feet. Eish, yikes'splash'

about that clip ->
- That's a Hatteras cast, no one really uses it in tournaments.

It is just not as effective/efficient as other styles that tournos use.
I think he was just emphasizing what can be done with an 8oz on that rod in that style/setup.
That style being what most multiplier anglers/striper fisherman in the states use.
A tournament cast with that 12ft blank would probably put a 5oz plug or an iron even further.
The rest of the tackle is standard striped bass spinning tackle.

Siegler/truth SM - magged multiplier
Braid mainline - 0.40mm or summin
century/black hole blank - now 12ft for distance spinning/fishing
5oz plugs and irons or whatever the distance guys are using. Abu's maybe
So Ja boet... that was realistic - he just set the bar a lil' higher for the braid multiplier spinners out there.
NB: cast further = cover more water = have more chance of catching fish/catch more fish.
