Howdee sealiners,me and one of my friends went fishing this weekend, the dam is located close to my hometown(pongola) with gin clear water, that makes it usualy hard to fish cause they see you long before you see them!                                                                                                                                                                                  We left about 11 that morning,it were also a great excuse for me to test my old/new boat;)i've got a 8ft boat cathedral hull with a 36lb electric motor, ideal for this irigation dams in the area. The weather were perfect cloudy, humid like :temp: and windless! After arriving ther we browsed the conditions tried a few baits, got about 10 fish on a Norman DLN chartruese/green they were keen to grab it when you pause it on retrieve.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           After the good rains the dam was chock and block full,we went to the more structured part of the dam,i took out the plasticks in the form of a weightless fluke,as we entered i got smacked real hard by a 2.5kg fish, she gave me a pretty decent fight.                                                                                                                                          We saw some wakes of beeeeeg ones in the back where the were feeding on fry,i got smacked for the second time but this time the fish just turned and broke 17lb line as if it was nothing, but when it happened for the second time i knew we were on the right spot,my friend also got broken off two times,it sounds like i'm talking bull*$%@,but you just can't stop them from going into the sticks they are like trains!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   It felt like the fish knew exactly what to do not to get caught, the last fish we dropped also grabbed the fluke and came to the surface, jumped to show us how a propper bass should look(about 5kg by the looks of it),a very-very sad moment when the hook came out flying towards the boat!:headbAfter all that action a storm came over and we decided to go back before we got struck by lightning! Will put the pickture up a bit later this week!
