As with any braid, one does want any knots that can close as braid tends to cut itself. A thicker braided rope works well here, pull the centre out, put a nail in one end and burn it with a lighter pull the nail out and you have a funnel like opening to thread your kite line through, pull the kite line through with a needle for about 6 cm and push through hollow rope braid, cut off peice sticking out, quick burn to stop it fraying, then make two granny knots as in picture. The other end you make a Catspaw knot, which you loop over the knot on the kite attachment, pull tight en jy is vas. Easy to put on and take off and no knots that close.

Yes you can use that method, but you do not really want a swivel between your kite and the main line as then your kite can rotate which would effect its stability and steering. Pauls Kite Fishing in New Zealand also recomends no swivel.

If you are using a kite with a different fitting-attachment,like a ring for example,then a Centro snap-swivel can be used ,they come in various pre-tested breaing strains of up to 200 lbs.The recommended knot for tying Braid/Dyneema/Dacron to the swivel would be a Triple Palomar knot (see knots section for tutorial). For added security,the tag-end can be left overly long, and a few half-hitches made with it.
