Any idea on what bait they were using?
What lures did you use for the bass?

Looking to maybe put in a session on friday:ifishin

They used mielies but I didn't see what flavor.for the bass I used plastic worms with red in them and fished so slow it looked like I was bait fishing ! I find the bigger bass intend to hit lures with red in a lot harder but hey that's just what I expierenced . The bottem bass pond is hard to fish I didn't see much bass swim arround so I sticked to the bass pond next to the trout pond

Hello, I lived in the area for about 10 years, fished there many times. Caught quite a few large carp. 2-3kg + with the biggest being 5kg+

Use their bait, it usually works. Never had luck with their bass though.....

I went to Rietvlei Zoo Farm today with a buddy who never been fishing before. Used plain mielie bom, brown bread and oink sweets dip. Boy, did we have fun, pulled out about 20 carp from 0.5 to 1.5 kg, not the greatest sizes, but lots of fun especially for the first timer. Just as we were about to leave, my bro-in-law had a huge bite, gave a 10 min fight and then unhooked itself. Will definitely go back for a chilled out session. Like I said, not great for size, but lots of fun for the kids and first timers.

Hi guys the Fishing Bug Caught me in May this year when I went to the Vaal for a weekend with Family .

I bought some rods and Stuff and Started getting the Hang of it and Fun Fishing is the perfect place to hone your skills.

I have been targeting Carp and Have got some beauties out at Fun Fishing.

I use SC stuttafords soft floaties , SC Honey Glow Mielies, and Various Ground Baits.

I have pulled many small Carp Out , and a couple of big ones too.

Thanks Micks, I see you like Dimalachite too, I caught some nice ones there this last weekend at peg V2.

8.2kg was the Biggest caught by my Brother-in-law-to-be.

@Big Truck ive been there once and enjoyed myself.... I got 3 fish for the 2days we were there, one being my PB.... Unfortuantely my friends blanked

I want to give Rietvlei a go, especially for the bass....
Dewald on sealine always suggests a day session, so hopefully soon i can take up his offer...

I am going to take my bass stuff to Fun Fishing tomorrow as it's warmer now so they are back on the Bite( so the Experts tell me).
I haven't really tried for Bass as It's been Winter but I know 2 Weeks Ago i saw a guy catch a 3kg plus bass there.
