Whole 1.5kg tail. Lekker streamline bait too. we just tied a loop and connected a 3/0 power swivel to it with a catspaw and then used sowing cotton doubled up to connect the kite line to the trace, works like a bomb, just knotting the cotton in the wind can be a little tricky.Just need a kp now to fly my kite, using the Tor 50 as a temporary solution.

Your kp is a 9" one right james? I notice that the ones bigger don't have a drag knob.

I think so yes if I can remember right. Some say they have cracked the spool on them but I have had no problems and they get the kite in very quickly compared to multipliers.Nice I should try the cotton method out. What kite you using?

Broke a 9" KP in the howling Easterly at Boiling Pot but then again I was a total newby and set the kite incorrectly

Craig did you pop the 9" loaded with nylon or braid? Spoke to stu and he told me the story of him popping his 12" KP loaded with 0.8mm off the pier in PE trying to reel in the skymaster kite he had(1.8m wingspan that thing has) also what size is that standard fishing kite that windsong sells for R175, 50cmX50cm? I need something for high wind speeds, had the medium out in 50kmph+ winds and was kakking to reel it in.

Using the windsong kites hey James. Using the medium and the large depending on the wind.
