    Kavango river

Just a quick recap on my annual road trip to the Kavango. Fellow sealine member Cadex joined in for this one and we departed 01:00 on Fiday the 26th of August for Rundu. The mission, same as last year, was to camp next to the Kavango for a week or so and try and fish ourselves broken. Well, by...

    Yellowtail

Does anyone know if it might be a good idea to bleed yellowtail like you would tuna? I'm just asking since a lot of the fish I have filleted have a lot of pink left in the flesh (not to mention the bloody mess when you clean them) which makes for not-so-nice sashimi.

    Haai Wysheid

“Knap gedaan, seun! Nou swem ons om...

    Durban's cool

I did not want to brag but you Durban boys are spoilt with such nice fishing literally just outside the harbour. Of course it helps to have the best in town at the helm, Mike Laubscher being the MAN. Thanks again and regards! W

I saw in an ad in skiboat, you can get up to 30% fuel savings using 4 bladed props. Any saving is better than nothing I suppose. I'm about to replace mine and thinking that might be the way to go.

    Kalk Bay - anything happening?

I would think this should be a good time to fish the harbour wall, now that our SE'ers have arrived? We have a Sealiner from KZN in town over the next few days, namely Quick Bite. Can anyone help please, or maybe suggest other safe options? thanks and regards W

Marine Equipment Trade Show - METS 2010

For anyone in the area over this time, it would be well worth popping in. Look out for some very exciting products from Toyota Marine. METS is the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry organised by Amsterdam RAI in...

Sorry, the 3rd pic has no fish in it, but it's the reel I want. I'm just as sorry, but have to thank you, these pics look much better in my private collection than on the forum Sorry mate rules are rules ADMIN "S" Ai, nou moet ek self weer op die net loop rondkrap en dit het my so lank...

Camping and fishing trip to the Kavango river

Howzit I 'm taking some leave sometime during September to drive up to Namibia for camping and fishing. I have found a camp on the Kavango near Rundu. I'm taking my own boat but there are additional boats also available for rent at reasonable rates. My mission is to do this on a shoestring...

Multipurpose spinning / gully fishing outfit

Hi all I want to help my sister put an outfit together (it's an insurance payout). She's off to Angola but not too keen on targetting the real big boys. She's happy throwing small baits at blacktails etc. I have however ORDERED her to catch me (or at least die trying) an Angola leerie. I'm...

    Fish ID please

Howdy - this fish was found on the beach at Shelly Point. It's most probably a sunfish or Mola Mola I say. It's a juvenile of about 40cm but what puts me off is the coloration and lack of resemblance to the adults we are seeing so often in the cape (even when small). I see on the net you do get...

    Uilkraals mouth

I have done a search on the forum but I'm more of an artificial lure kinda guy. Anything from spoons, plugs, poppers or flies. Is it worth trying? I'm sure there must be some elf or leeries in the area, apart from cob in the surf. I'll be in the area this coming Sunday and Monday - conditions...

    55cm Skippy

My little friend says he's not really table fare and would rather like to take one last swim somewhere nice and warm, like False Bay maybe. First to come fetch it at my house can have it.

    Struisbaai yellowtail

05:00 Saturday morning 6 Feb 2010 saw 4 Sealiners, myself, Patrick, Fishinmagician and Bulk Carrier departing Struisbaai harbor aboard the 28ft Buttcat "Awesome". Our plans for a run to the Alphard banks were aborted due to an untimely Northwesterly that was due to pull in later. Plan B involved...
